we had to go pick up some dipshit yesterday who thought it would be a good idea to ride his new Ultra in a snowstorm. he made it like 4 miles from home and refused to go any further.

Holy warm December! I was practically sweating walking into work this morning!
:iagree: Was wearing my perforated leather jacket today.. that is a first for December for me
rode in myself but damn there was a lot of salt and sand, didn't realize there would be.
I packed it in this weekend. Salt on the roads is not something I want to subject the bike to.
I am picking up my bike from the shop this afternoon. I'll probably ride today and tomorrow and put it away after a good rinsing.
I rode the 250 in again today. It's nice to have a less expensive bike, and not give a shit about crap on the roads.
Watch out for sand. Doesn't matter how cheap your bike is if you're sliding across the road.
Nice warm afternoon today, up around 50ºF. I went for about a 4-hour ride just for fun. Probably won't get many more of those until spring.
PhilB
rode in today. probably the last day tho. it was cold and wet and my visor wouldn't stop fogging up.
Rode in this morning. Wasn't too bad but the road surfaces are damp and cold. You do have to be careful. Had another guy next to me on 128 for a bit, on a Sportster I think? And I actually did see a few other bikes out and about.
Obsessing about salt and corrosion on a bike, IMHO, is pretty pointless when so many of us probably don't hold on to a bike more than 3-4 or years anyways.
I live close enough to work that I decided to drive in and swap rides at lunch...but today is it for the year.
my bike has nearly paid for itself in the gas that it's saved. If it corrodes to pieces after a few years, I won't be upset..but I'll probably have another bike by that time. But I'm guessing if there's a corrosion issue before that, I can replace the part pretty cheap and easily. I don't anticipate any corrosion related issues
that being said, I will ride until I don't enjoy riding anymore. I did not enjoy the fogging issues I had yesterday and today. Hopefully that clears up.
i commuted today, but WTF is up with the weather?
supposed to be dry and 55. it's raining and 45.
cant wait to ride home with my shagged up DOT's that had 2 seasons of track use
It was still crappy out at lunch, so it looks like tomorrow will be the last hurrah.
All I ask for is that the weather guy gets it right for 9 hours. Long enough to check before I leave and get home.
But that's apparently way too much to ask and some weather guy deserves a punch in the mouth :P
Today's ride wasn't that bad really. I didn't get rained on.
fucking weather people. "rain" today even tho the drive (cage) in was ifne. checked again now they're saying sunny and 50. of course i drive in today and rode in yesterday. spent 30 minutes rinsing off the bike and then drying it off.
It was dark and wet when I woke up. Got outta the shower and it was 52* and sunny, I couldn't believe it.
I rode today, although not on my commute. I leave too early (5:30 AM) and temps are just too cold at that hour. But at noon it was quite nice, so I loaded up the battery and spent my lunch hour ripping around town.
Gonna be a long winter.
