You guys are nuts. This is dirt bike weather.
22 degrees this morning. Think that's it for me.
28 . Just threw on the balacava and turned the suit up to medium. high practicly melts your skin off.
Last night, I rode my DR650 to Wal-Mart at around 5:30 PM. It was pretty cold! I did not ride in this morning, but I may trade my truck for my bike this afternoon.
Really nice ride in this morning. 20 degrees when I left my house. Finally broke out the balaclava. I'd forgotten how much I love riding in these temps as long as the roads are dry.

Rode in this morning. 27* on a fully naked bike. Most of me was warm but the heated grips were more or less useless at these temperatures.
Commuted from Newton Corner to Harvard Square these past 2 weeks including today. Short ride, really. Last night rode home from Copley at 9:30PM. Onboard thermometer showed temp dropping from 35 to 32 between Copley and Newton Corner. Heated grips (2 settings) were invaluable. Had them on high last night and this morning. Using jacket and pants from First Gear (thank you Moto Market last few week's sale.) Speed never exceeds 50.
You guys are nuts. I was cold this morning when I went to vote, and I was in my car lol
Put on an extra layer this morning and beat another personal best low temp this morning. Hands got a little chilly towards the end of the 30mile freeway ride.
We have designated cycle parking in front and some of the cars started taking those spots :noway:. Might have to call security :fuming:
Tourmaster liner and gloves. I can feel the heat drop when the I am at idle. But it picks up when above 2K on the old Hawk. No hand protection and not wind shield.
I am in talks wit Jenanin and looking into Barkbusters Storm handguards with single-sided mounting kit for 6mm or 8mm threaded bar-ends and MRA X-creen Add-On Variable Windscreen Spoiler Blade with MRA X-creen Add-On Variable Windscreen Spoiler Blade (clamp-on) to block some wind. I got spoiled on the BMW....
hmmm... maybe i just need to buy some heated gear.
Worked from home yesterday and had to bring the dog to work today. Tomorrow and Thursday look crappy for riding, probably bike it on Friday.
Weather.com is saying 50% chance of snow tomorrow and lots of wind... Can't decide if I should ride in...
Kinda glad I didn't ride in today after looking out the window and seeing the snow collecting at work here in Hopkinton
One of my co-workers rode in on her BMW.
Around 2pm I walked by and asked "Seriously?"
At 6pm I had to ask "am I just a wuss?"
Fortunately, she was gambling on a weather report that claimed snow after 7 or 8.
thats funny ....even I have a co-worker who rides a bmw...and i think she rode in today. is your workplace near the Boston Tea Party museum?
I just came home btw....it was crazy riding home...couldn't keep the helmet shut as snow piled up every few seconds. my FirstGear heated gloves didn't help much :-|
saw a guy on a moped tonight on my way to work in West Roxbury, MA. right around 10:30 at night going thru the slush and snow with nothing more then what looked like a northface type jacket and regular pants
Yea ummm today marks the return of the truck.... Salt n shit ruin a good ride. If the roads clear and it stays cold the Beemer will be back out
While this is true, I have known a couple of people who have taken this route, and gotten away with it, long term. It seems as though the chance of being "discovered" is pretty close to zero, as Police officers usually just consider a passing Moped to be fairly benign, especially if they wear a full coverage helmet (minimal possibility of facial recognition), and have the machine registered to someone else. If I lost my license (I don't drink anymore - by choice), I would probably try something like an Optibike (a powerful electric bicycle).
Got out for a ride this afternoon. Not the worst stuff I've ridden through, but it did still have some tricky spots.
