Ohhh man, the more I read about this machine the MORE I WANT IT.... This thing has no complaints really, only the stupid bright Yellow warning indicator for Low Fuel or any other problem indications sent via on board cpu...
Now I am going to research the maintenance schedule.... Eeeak I am a little worried about this one....

SO FAR I have done 2 380 mile plus days
on my new Gixer. Got off only a little stiff
I have ordered the Ventura back rack for it where the bags sit where the
B*tch fell off
Hokey but then the whole thing comes off and on in 20 minutes so you don't have to keep it on. Only pop on for trips. COsts only about $ 250
Or for the price of a new BMW or Aprilla you can get a new Gixer or ZX10 and buy a used sport tourer and still have money left over.

It is allowed a powerpuff paintjob because it already kicked everyone else's collective ass back in the day!Originally posted by bump909
what's up with the powerpuff paintjob?
Anyway, I'm pretty sure the one in the picture has the 1100cc motor which made about 170HP.
I can't imagine what they are worth because there are less than 10 in existence.

No doubt, but then again... long distances would probably be done in much shorter amounts of time... On the other hand, getting parts would be a little bit difficult... unless you're really good at voodoo<br>

I'm pretty sure it is a steering damper.Originally posted by Half Squid

Installed verticly??? Ok I really dont get that... I tryed to follow the bottom of the bike, I cant tell if the lower frame is solid up to the point, if so it would be the rear suspention and linkage. I just cant comprehend how it would work at that location??? I cant really get a good look at the joining points from the main frame and the what I think is the swing arm and lower sub frame????Originally posted by ZX-12R

I am no Engineer, but I dont understand how it could work, but I am very curious.....

My bad... I thought you meant the horizontal shock you can see in the first picture.
I'm not 100% sure how it works because I've never had the chance to see one in person. There are a number of descriptions about the suspension of the bike on the internet, but without a diagram, I've had a litte difficulty deciphering it in my head.

The forks are rigid but there is a whishbone suspension system for the front that is hidden up towards the frame. I haven't been able to find a picture with a good view of it.
The rear suspension is the large shock that is in the front of the engine. It is connected to the swing arm by a long rod.
I love the HAYABUSA!
