oh ok, so it's kinda like the K1200R & other BMW bikes then?Originally posted by ZX-12R
The forks are rigid but there is a whishbone suspension system for the front that is hidden up towards the frame. I haven't been able to find a picture with a good view of it.
The rear suspension is the large shock that is in the front of the engine. It is connected to the swing arm by a long rod.

As far as the front end.. Yes, everything else NO.. Just like I mentioned earlier about the front resemling the K1200R's front suspension.... Rigid Forks/Wishbone system. It's not like this thread is long or anything, haven't you been following the bouncing ball?Originally posted by OreoGaborio

I wonder if they stole the design or had to pay big bucks from Britten before his passing? Or did Britten ever work for BMW???

From what I can tell, Britten based his design on one from an older Vincent front end. He made improvements to it but I do not think the original idea was his.

Ok BOY... ( Not the good Mickey Oh Boy!)
I got a price quote on the k1200R with everything I wanted.. OMFG..... Here comes some serious O/T baby!
If I am not on any rides Saturday or weekday afternoons it's because I am working to buy my new 1 wheeled beatch!![]()
As soon as the next one comes in I will be getting a call so I can see it in person. In July they will begin taking orders for customizing prefferences. From there it will take 5-6 weeks for delivery..The last one the dealership got. it was sold in 5 hours of delivery.....

Hey Adam, I was dead nuts on what I thought it was going to cost with what I wanted! & The fuckin bastids want to charge delivery/destination charges of $350. The ad for the bike said the MSRP for the basic moel was $14.325 with Handling charges included.. I am not going to pay for that.... I hope...

As far as I know there is either the Short Windshiled or NO windshield.. I looked through all the acessories available, but never saw a second option in windshields?Originally posted by babo

FYI there is an Aprilla dealership in NH that has a Tuono that they will let you Demo. I think it's in Raymond I can't remember where it was. I went in and shot the shit with a sales rep. He said come back on a weekday a nd test ride one. I want to say it was in Londonderry???? But can't be 100%.

Tuono's lose value quickly. A guy I know bought one that was a few years old for something like 7K
I have heard Aprillia's in general loose a good deal of value. More than most bikes. So far the only bikes I see that hold any sort of significant value is Hardleys, Ducati, & BMW. Also some of the Cruiser types, like the Gold Wings.Originally posted by katana0215

Anything else you buy will be purely bought for your enjoyment, not for a investment... Thats really the way you need to think about it when you buy any kind of toy. ( Bike, Jet ski, Dirt bike, boat, ect...)
