That bike is ridiculously clean and tasty looking!
Welcome to the club!
The older I get the Faster I wuz
The bike looks very nice. I'd be proud to own it.(with aftermarket rearsets, of course)
Thought you guys might enjoy some more pictures...
My thoughts on the Woodcraft rearsets:
1. The quality (both machining and anodizing) are excellent!
2. They make my legs slightly more cramped, but they're still comfortable for the short rides I've done so far with them. Also, they put my legs into a better part of the tank so I think I have more control. By feel and comparing pictures to stock, they don't seem to have moved back that much, but it could just be me?
3. Love the solid feel and extra grip.
4. Actuation is basically the same as stock, but maybe a little better.
5. They look great on the bike!
6. I'm noticing that I want to ride harder with them. I really need to get to a trackday soon..

Nice
Tip: Turn the little clamp for the rear brake reservoir tube around... your heel will likely end up rubbing on it.
Go B's!
What kinda Triple clamp is that?

Thanks for the tip! I actually noticed the clamp and thought about moving it (I figured it was placed that way by Suzuki to be more accessible and would be covered by the stock heel guard).
The triple clamp is made by LSL (their logo is covered by my keychain). I'm thinking about getting it anodized black this winter, along with some other aluminium bits. It'll depend on what prices I get quoted and if I find the motivation. On the other hand, I'm also contemplating putting the stock clip-ons on to try (I bought the bike with the LSL handlebar kit installed and have been pretty happy with them), but if I need to re-route the cables I might not bother..
Figured there'd be some Bruins fans in here! Go B's!!
Lemme know if you like the clipons and decide to sell the LSL kit, please. I have the exact same bike and could include the stock clipons with cash, if you don't already have the stockers.
They look great!! The solid feel is confidence inspiring. .....
Glad you're happy with them. Pick up a set of hammergrips too, for another sv product that doesn't suck.

Those hammergrips made my SV toy a lot easier to handle. Definitely a +1 on that advice. Great bang/buck ratio.
Definitely! Surprising how much of a difference it makes. Having ridden it a few more times, i notice my legs and hips getting sore quicker, but it probably won't be too much of an issue for me since I don't do any long rides really. I can always throw my legs up over the frame sliders to stretch my legs out.
Another thing I noticed now after doing some highway, the pegs do transmit more vibrations to my feet. They actually felt numb after a little highway run the other day. Nothing too bad and I'll just get used to it, but thought it was worth noting.
Thanks for the recommendation. I've considered these before, but never really wanted to cover up the tank with them and didn't have too much of an issue holding on with my legs. However, just on my ride this morning (now with the WC rearsets) I started reconsidering getting some since I'm putting a lot of energy into keeping tight to the tank. At some point function needs to take priority and those don't look bad at all!
Oh, can you remove those later without affecting the paint? How are they secured?

They go on with adhesive, like all tank grip type gizmos. I'm sure with a heat gun, and then some goo gone or some type of solvent, you could remove all the residue.
But trust me when I say the only way you'll want to take them off is to replace them with new ones in some time. I presume they'll last 5+ yrs no problem, unless you spill gas on them religiously.
And 5 is a pretty conservative number, normal use, no spillage should leave them intact forever.

you don't want to stay tight to the tank. you wanna stay an inch or two off it. it'll help you grip it better with your knees rather than inner thighs.

Believe everything you hear?
Listen to others, try new things, but never set anything in stone & always do what works for you.
Rider preference... Also depends on the task at hand... and bike... and set-up... and riding style.
Transitions? My nuts on the tank. Turn 7 to 8 flip? They're practically on my gas cap.

When I mentioned keeping tight to the tank, I meant gripping the sides with my legs/knees. However, I tend to always end up with my balls against the tank just due to gravity/braking and lack of grip on the tank to prevent this. I try moving back in the seat a couple inches (I think this gives my legs more room too because the seat is taller), but it never lasts. So, I'm really thinking these grips will help a lot.
