    Belly Pans

Seth was told by someone working hot pit this weekend to get a bellypan on his bike before the next race weekend. Sharkskinz has a complete set of race plastic, but is seems silly to spend $600 on that bike if it can be avoided.

Anyone got suggestions for a legal pan that can be had for cheap and won't look like someone raided Kitchens Etc to fab it?

Would a TT600 bellypan bolt up?

    Re: Belly Pans

Looks like from the factory the pan and upper were one piece on the TT600 (I should have noted thats what he has...) so if you know of a TT600 or Speed 4 bellypan kit, that'd work. Or full bodywork, sure.

Why does it not surprise me that you of all people have a line on obscure parts... : )

Hrmm, the T595/955 had completely different bodywork, frame, etc. Might be able to rig the bellypan...

Interesting to see the forks slammed on the example bike... and that is a HUGE sprocket in back...?

Agreed, there has been talk of finding a lightweight bike to run instaed of an aging, hard to get anything for middleweight though, which is why I was hoping to find a cheap option for him rather than seeing money sunk into the bike thus making the LW theory moot.

Find an old Crashed race lower, and some aluminum straping from Home depot,

    Re: Belly Pans

    is it a speed 4 or a TT600?
did the speed 4 have a belly pan?
unless LRRS changed the rules (i wish they would) "if it didnt come stock with one then you dont need one"
you could always take stock TT bodywork and seal it up.

    Re: Belly Pans

He's been claiming it's a Speed 4, but I think the fairing stays and bracketry give it away as a TT600.

He's settled on Sharkskinz, so look for a prettier TT600 in the T1a pits soon.

Google for 'turkey pans' and hit number 6...

    Amazon.com: turkey roasting pan

Lots of options. do you recommend springing for non-stick or do you prefer enamel clad 'granite ware'? I'm guessing glass is right out, even though it makes spotting leaks easier for cornerworkers...

    Re: Belly Pans

the stock tt600 lower would definitely also need sealing. theres a big hole in the bottom. I like that race kit, if mine get trashed at all I will end up with that set for my street bike. I didnt think anyone was racing a TT600 up there. I will have to look for it

you can also look on Triumph Forum: Triumph Rat Motorcycle Forums to see who has what laying around
