First of all I want to give a ginormous THANK YOU to all you guys and girls who helped out this weekend. I was overwhelmed with support for Chris and have met and made some great friends. I just wish Chris was there to see that, man that would've been the icing on the cake. But he's improving so I am determined to get him back up there to meet everyone and see the people who have helped him so much.
So I'm on the phone last night towing the trailer home and my transmission sh@ts the bed and I'm all kinds of pissed just trying to limp it home when Chris' gf Kate calls. I give her the great news about you guys and how much $ we made for Chris and how great all the people up there are, etc. So she says there's someone who wants to speak with me. I say hello and someone says, "thanks for the money". It was Chris. I was shocked. So I said "Holy sh#t man! How are you feeling?!!" His reply was "Oh my F*n lord." LOL. I ask him where he is and he tells me Long Island, which is not right. I told him there are a ton of people pulling for him and I have a lot of stuff to show him and he said to "shoot it right over". lol. Then I told him I didn't think he"d remember me to which he said "Yeah there's a lot of Larry's runnin around here". So I said "Oh, a lot of fat old guys then, huh?" He said "Yeah." lol. I decided to let him rest and asked for Kate.
So I wanted to pass that along. He's doing well enough to start walking (assisted) and strength rehab is beginning as well. They are working on his memory and it seems like its beginning to peek through the haze just a tiny bit. I'm sure he doesnt fully remember me but talking to him gave me goosebumps anyway.
I'll be on here periodically with updates for you guys, it's the least I can do after everything you've all done for Chris. THANK YOU again for all your help.
