I would watch some of my race videos but they are all in slow motion. Damn camera.,. :/ Be nice if there was enough ice this weekend, that helps get through the lull.
I have a few on youtube, here is a link to one. The other should come up after you watch this one. Its with an old GoPro, the sounds sucks and the video is not the best quality. Still fun to watch, for me at least.

did Shawn not hit the throttle and let you pass him? he had you every time before that on acceleration.

Accel off the apex is something I need to work on. I think I just got it right, or at least better, that time. He has seen the video and never said anything, he may have made a mistake hard to say. He knew I was right there, he looked back a couple times before I passed him. He got me back for it the next weekend.
You are in a couple videos, nice body position by the way.

I sucked at launching my new bike the first few weekends. I did the 2 day Penguin last year and Eric talked about starts. It clicked and now I can launch pretty good. I just need to keep the speed up into t1.
For some reason I tend to do my faster laps in practice. I read or saw sometime Nicky Hayden said about practice and pushing it not 'just riding around tearing up the equipment'. I try to remember of that. Also, I think I'm more comfortable and relaxed in practice. In a race I tend to think too much about what position I'm in, not wanting to crash-out etc.
As an expect I won't have to worry about what position I'm in, I KNOW I'll be in the back.

Just to hold an RPM around peak torque, for me around 6k seems to work best, let the clutch out gradually so as to accelerate. Not too fast(wheelie) not too slow(smoke the clutch). Really, just modulate the clutch not the throttle. When the clutch is fully engaged start rolling on the throttle.
Works greats for me!

Remember boys and girls....Practice is just that. PRACTICE!!
Practice ( and TD's you think are practice ) are just that. Practice. Your not trying to set best lap times or beating your bud, Jim. Work on your problem items. Breaking into T#1, exit of T#2 or going through T#7. Getting on the gas out of T#10.
Individual items. Increments, one at a time. This builds confidence and road racing abilities.
It's called "Bench Racing"... not.... " Bench Track Day " or " Bench Practice ".
Y'all can throw your shit down the track all day long during a race, shit, that's the definition of racing! We know it, you know it,,,fuck,,,,that's why we're here!!!!
Track Days an Practice !??.... Stick to working on your problem areas. We want to drink our coffee, set up our stations, Think about life sucking with a hangover...Don't need your stupid ass crashing and then telling us about how you should have bought new tires and shit!!!
Du@^ A@@ !!!! "Here's a bottle of water, why don't you go over there, put this diaper on your arm, and wait for the Bus at the #3/10 Gate". " We'll push your bike out at the end of the group/session/race, Cup Cake...GO!!! GO, NOW !!!!
" In the name of the Spedo, the Tach and the Holy Throttle, Amen. "
