Sounds fun, but like a major time committment...I gues I'll be buying a lot of gifts for the wifey if I go down that road.

I am trying to sell my bike an pick up a 675...we'll see what happens...

Thanks again guys...and btw, I am not worrying about classes when I hit 1:23, at this rate it will be more like 2:23

Just a small piece of advice, I'd shy away from
A 675, a Ducati, or any less common bike. I know that no matter what I do to the bike, I can get spares. Mine is common, shit, I had a spare radiator in 15 minutes of asking last round. You get an R6 or a GSXR 600 and you'll always find parts. Or, if you're loaded just buy two 675s and set one up for rain/spares. But find something that crashes well (ducatis don't) and is common.

Technically, the rules don't allow you to switch motors (either bigger or smaller) in a given bike. The bike must run the correct motor for that model (vin etc).

I believe there is going to be one modification the schedule.
Sunday race 1 will be EX/AM Supertwins (coming out of race 11 and will be the first race)

Why wait for the class, there is at least one running around now, along with a CBR250R IIRC.

    followup:
As someone said the likelihood of someone protesting or tech inspection may be low... but bikes VIN's are checked post race for contingency purposes.

Re: Questions about getting into racing

Although it is possible for someone to buy a GSXR600 & do Motor swap with same (or similar) year GSXR750 motor = direct swap and run a class like Formula 40 (or the "old" Formula 50) where there is no difference between 600 or 750cc bike for "Age-restricted" class. A precident has been set, even though F50 (Big Bike) class no longer exists - due to rather small entries.

Hey Graham, are you confusing October Schedule with September?

SuperTwins is scheduled for Race 5 on Sunday, September 15 & originally scheduled for Race 11 on Sunday, October 6th.

Any chance of splitting Saturday Race 4 to be just HW SuperSport & making Race 4A F50 Lights?

    Done
    Sat R4 = Ex/Am HW SS
    R4A = Ex/AM F50L
(actually it has been like this for the past few race weekends:-)

    Wow, that looks easy.

My turn, any chance of moving LWGP so there is more than one race between it and ULSB? (Currently races 8 and 10 on Saturday.)

    The short answer:
NO. but will be taken under advisement.

Thanks for verifying that F50L (Race 4A) has a little break after GTL (Race 3). Us old guys need a chance to rest between these back-to-back races & the F50L race is much more fun without having to worry about the overtaking/closing speeds of the HW SuperSport bikes. I know there is more interest in F50L with the split.

I liked when it was combined last year cause it was fun with some of those smaller bikes off the line (AM was one wave) but there has been so many F50L this year that it just makes sense to have it split. I think most weekends between HWSS and F50L it was around 70 entries. that would be way too many on track at once.

Last race WE we had 30 bikes in the novice 2 wave....and thought maybe we ned to split and then recalled throughout the early 2000's we had bigger waves. I was once in wave 5 and could see wave 1 leaders coming around T9 before we got going..Lots of incentive to get a move on.
We need to remember we have been a bit spoilt over the lean years.....But...around 30 per wave is about the right number...
ps in those days we had +1200 enteries.....growing the entry numbers again.is a nice problem to have for all of us....

I wasn't around for those years, that's nuts.

Novice grids have been good all year.

When i raced as an Amateur I hated it. I would catch the slower F50l guys before the end of the first lap. Not fun trying to knife through those guys in the turn 11-12 complex with a couple of other 600s.

I was past all the AM F50L guys by turn 3 on lap 1 I think most of the time and doubt I ever caught the EX ones.

Wasnt this year the year with the most entries and new races in the last 10 years or something like that?
Everyone is talking about huge grids and every weekend we have a very decent sized rookie race.

Re: Questions about getting into racing

at 1:20+ pace you can race on the same set of tires for two weekends easy on a 600+cc bike. Assuming you do say 3 classes and 4 practices. I run a full 2 day trackday out here in CA on TAKEOFFS I buy for $60 and can run within 4-6 seconds of my PB all day (which would be somewhere around a 1:14-1:15 at LRRS). Shit front tires on my 600 last a while. When full out racing will burn a rear per weekend (but I only enter one or two 6 lap races).

Still think homie should just go enter a weekend or two on the 750 and see how it goes. Do 2-3 races over the two day weekend. Have fun.

6 lap races? Races are 8 now. Is that a recent change?
