Bumping this thread as I'll be in Blackhawk Farms this weekend. was at Roebling last weekend, and NJMP the one before that.
Roebling got repaved in May and it's so nice. NJMP is getting really bad in the high speed spots you dont want bumps. I heard a rumor of a repave in 2024.
Brands Hatch - fun with fast corners and enough elevation changes and switchbacks to make you ill.
Silverstone - fast, fast track. Classic.
Nurburgring - what can I say. Do it in a rental. You get charged for any damaged caused, even scrapping the pavement if it's bad enough.
Donnington - another fast track and another classic
Knockhill - a lot like Palmer really. Very low tech grounds.
Bedford areodrome - flat track with very little chicanes. It's easy to spin out or go off course since it's so wide open.
Top gear UK test track - just like it looks on TV. It's in the middle of an industrial park so if you go off course you could end up in someone's garage.
Goodwood - small and kept to low speeds.
Thruxton - nice classic track but sound cameras are everywhere so you get noise fines in the mail about 2 weeks after you leave.
Oulton - noise and speed restrictions in place. Fines in the mail for violating either. Not worth going to.
Palmer - great track with lots of elevation changes and switchbacks. Almost too easy to drag your knees in the two bowls.
Loudon - enough said before.
Thompson - old track mixed with new. Kinda basic and small but still fun. Facilities are good.
Isle of mann - like racing around Marthas vineyard at full tilt. Probably gonna die doing it.
Castle combe - basic but fast. It's more of a drifting track now.
I will add more when I have time...
Repave makes the place more fun raced in March. They have a new fuel island as well. not sure why the food court is located where it is but it's not bad either also had a food truck with BBQ. still hard to get into any kind of rhythm at least for me... but its faster now with new pavement. bus stops at each end of the front straight make for good or bad passing zones... still in the middle of nowhere!
that is an issue. was at VIR one time and a guy shows up pitting next to me asked to use my hookup? i said no he then offers me $5 and beer, again i said no, he gets pissed and moved looking for another spot . think at the time it was $15 or $20. so not sure i get it? as costs rise for tracks there will be more enforcement and added fees.
after NC Bike this weekend and riding on the new chicane, i'm updating my list. this track almost falls below Thompson now. It sucks.
1. VIR
2. Road America
3. Pitt Race
4. Summit Point
5. Roebling
6. Daytona
7. NJMP
8. Blackhawk Farms
9. Autobahn Country Club (south)
10. Homestead
11. Carolina Motorsports Park
12. NHMS
13. Autobahn Country Club (north)
14. Monticello (south)
15. NC Bike (with chicane)
16. anything besides Thompson
17. Thompson
NC Bike added a chicane?? Where? Why?
Got an updated track map?
EDIT:
Ohhhhh.... Is it this little thing entering/exiting the west side of the light bulb?

I bet it is, but I also bet if I searched how many times you used the word "awful" in this thread it would turn up 1000 times.
You're literally the snobbiest track reviewer I know. According to your reviews in here, pretty much everything on your list below VIR is awful... VIR's nice & all but I think you only like that track because of some kinda sentimental value. Maybe it's where you met Frenchie or something
So I'll take this for what its worth and form my own opinion in October.![]()

if you're purely talking tracks and the layout:
the bad tracks: Thompson, NHMS, NC Bike
the meh tracks: CMP, Daytona, NJMP, Homestead
good tracks: Summit, Blackhawk, Roebling
great tracks: VIR, Road America, Barber, Pitt Race
some of these will move up or down based on facilities. like NHMS and NJMP have some of the best facilities i've seen anywhere. Roebling is pretty bad. NC Bike is non existent. So my rating is more of an overall between the two.

Lmao. You guys are too much.
I don’t pick thing up well.
Is the message, that Jim is slow??
Your park avenue leads to..
I don’t like REMLAP. Now why that’s on me. First track day this year. Didn’t look at video before hand to get a feel for it. Have not run it regular way since pre Covid. Only went to one classroom session. Started to like at 3:15 session then had two step outs of the rear tire so called it a day. BTW TTD staff continues to do a great job.
2013 ZX6R-636
While I still prefer Palmer over Remlap, I did have such a fantastic time teaching at the Non-Sportbike day that it improved my impression of running it clockwise.
And I absolutely love the entry to turns 14, 13, 12, 11 & 10 coming off the front straight.
And 9
And 7 & 6
And the fast turn 2 into 1
And the...
And the...
And the...
Okay yeah I def like it a bit more than I did now.
