Steve, you probably want to delete that my friend. Not your best work. Lol.

because if you do that with the stock throttle you're not solving the problem. you're just shifting it from one end to the other. you're safer not being able to easily get to full throttle than you are not being able to fully shut off the gas when you get on the brakes.
    Bwaaaaahaahhhaaaa. !

You guys are cheering me up.

OK, stupidity alert (on my part).

But even if you rotate the throttle forward, it will still rotate the same amount to WFO.

Is this what you mean Degsy?

Yes. Of course. It's a cylinder. Basic geometry. View the throttle end-on. Rotating the throttle forward or backward is not changing anything about the throttle characteristics. Not even with an aftermarket throttle. Straight-rate, accelerated 1/4 turn, 1/5 turn, 1/6 turn. Doesn't matter where the throttle starts.

OK, so I did get it. Whew. Thought I was missing something there.

Re: Upgrading 1st Gen SV throttle/switches with MotionPro throttle & 2nd Gen Switches

I guess I wasn't talking about reducing the total rotation (heck, even I'm smart enough to know that!!)--I use a 1/4 turn--but, I've always rotated my throttle housing forward away from rotation a bit (if it was practical) so when my hand was forward which would normally be closed, it would be open slightly. In normal track operation I find that I never have to have the throttle completely closed (I can always let it idle in the pits)...kind of like the guys who raise the idle speed for easing downshifting!!
    Remember, I'm talking small increase.
AND--a quicker turn throttle is a great idea for the track.
    Better now, Degs?
    Merry Christmas

Nope. I know what you mean and you're still wrong. Lol.

Rotating your throttle assembly forwards and backwards doesn't make your grip start anywhere else in the throttles rotation.

You are rotating a cylinder using an external object (your hand). It doesn't matter where that cylinder starts off or where you grip it. It is always off at rest and always takes the same amount of rotation to fully open.

I'm still open to ideas. I think I'll try what I have now and see how I like it.
