Yes. Of course. It's a cylinder. Basic geometry. View the throttle end-on. Rotating the throttle forward or backward is not changing anything about the throttle characteristics. Not even with an aftermarket throttle. Straight-rate, accelerated 1/4 turn, 1/5 turn, 1/6 turn. Doesn't matter where the throttle starts.Originally Posted by The Snowman
I guess I wasn't talking about reducing the total rotation (heck, even I'm smart enough to know that!!)--I use a 1/4 turn--but, I've always rotated my throttle housing forward away from rotation a bit (if it was practical) so when my hand was forward which would normally be closed, it would be open slightly. In normal track operation I find that I never have to have the throttle completely closed (I can always let it idle in the pits)...kind of like the guys who raise the idle speed for easing downshifting!!
Remember, I'm talking small increase.
AND--a quicker turn throttle is a great idea for the track.
Better now, Degs?
Merry Christmas

Nope. I know what you mean and you're still wrong. Lol.
Rotating your throttle assembly forwards and backwards doesn't make your grip start anywhere else in the throttles rotation.
You are rotating a cylinder using an external object (your hand). It doesn't matter where that cylinder starts off or where you grip it. It is always off at rest and always takes the same amount of rotation to fully open.
chuck, you couldve just put on a dirtbike kill switch...ahhh nevermind. you dont care
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
