The guy at the shop said they might total it due to the bolt pullin out of the frame.

There is a lien on the bike but most of that is for warranties. Only abt 3k is for the bike.

The dealer will have to close out all warranties by prorating them.

    i doubt you got $6k - $7k of damage
make sure to point out EVERYTHING to the adjuster, they don't know anything about bikes. i probably could have told mine anything and he would have believed it.

you'll probably get most of your warranty money back, get the bike for the track, and pocket some

ya, if there's any damage on the frame (scratch, dent, etc) then the bike usually gets totalled.

Seriously? You let them go to your insurance company?

BAD MOVE. Like Jim said... Probably gonna get totaled and you're not gonna have ANY bike until you buy it back or get a new one.
Shoulda brought it to GMD or someone who could fix the rearset mount (and possibly the rearset as well) for cheap.

wait you called YOUR insurance or THEIR insurance? they should pay, not yours

my bike getting totaled was the best thing that could have happened. i had good coverage. now i have a track bike, street bike, upgraded some parts on my bike, and got all new gear

Doesn't matter who you call. Insurance will sort that out all that crap.

What I"m saying is involve NO insurance company until you know exactly what the deal is and what you can afford to do should you end up with a totaled bike.

For clarification we both use the same company and we are going through thier policy.

I just want to get another bike if they total it out. If not I will be happy to have a fixed bike.

The warranties were financed so I wont get money back.

I cant afford the track addiction just yet.

whatever is left on them should get credited back to the deal though and lower your payoff. warranties and maintenance packages are refundable products

if it were me, i'd rather get it totaled & start over again.

next time go to a better dealer, like Bettencourts

    I wont

EDIT: I might have to, they said they could not get an external bank to finance me due to my credit rating. Unless Bettencourts offers in-house financing. I also need to check my credit score myself, I know I haven't always had the best credit but i have had my auto loan for about 3 years now and no problems. I am not even sure what I will have if they determine it a total loss will have to wait and find out the outcome. No since in getting ahead of myself

I would love to but I will not be there, the shop is going to point out all defects to the claims adjuster and we will go from there. I had to leave the bike in Adams, MA as it was in no condition to ride home according to the shop. They were surprised I rode it to the shop never-mind trying to ride it back to Lynn.

So why should I cancel the claim and then drop that money myself? I didn't cause the damage they did. I will let the insurance handle it. I will still have a bike when the insurance is completed too.
