I've not seen much chatter about anyone with a failed stator for the year I've owned mine, it's easy to get to, pull the primary cover, pull the clutch and primary sprocket which is bolted to the flywheel and it's right there. There are aftermarket VRRs available as well, shares the design with the Sporty so loooots of options, and if you're going in there you can swap to an aluminum primary sprocket to drop 4lbs or so off the crank, massive improvement in engine responsiveness and handling from ditching that giant rotating mass.

lol. at least i was wrong about the repair process. It was the 1125r i was thinking of with the stator problem anyway. Something to do with the rotor needing to come out which makes the repair a nightmare.

I think he has been messaging me over on gixxer. They both live in South Boston which would be a weird coincidence anyway. He plugged and played with too many Chinese parts trying to get it running so now its all screwed up. I do think it just needed a fuel pump originally but now I think it's gonna need a bit more. Probably a good deal but a new fuel pump is flat out impossible to buy now. You stuck with used or Chinese. You can make a newer one work but you lose the gas light.

Good deal for a sporty. The jack alone is worth a 1\10th the price.

I paid $75 for my used jack. Exact same design, but it's a genuine Craftsman. Maybe 1/20th the price of the bike.

Is it possible to just replace the physical pump inside the sender ? That's what I did with my SRAD and I still have the gas light. Did he say if it ever ran under his ownership ? I'm mildly interested

You can try to butcher the stock pump but it's not ideal. Ends up being a mess. It's not user serviceable like the srad pumps and Suzuki stopped selling them years ago.
It never ran without starter fluid and now it doesn't even do that. Ad is down so someone grabbed it I guess.
