Hey nice Ass...![]()
Damn it, I was trying to use up a whole page, but I ran out of pics.![]()
The HD thing wasn't something you said, someone on here posted up saying a harley owner said HD's handle better than sportbikes cuz sportbikes are too light, they don't stick to the road
but your theory is the same as that HD guy's... it's not the weight or displacment of the bike, it's the geometry & suspension that made the ZX9 feel more planted & more stable.

there should be a graduate system like in the UK.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

My cousin recently crashed pretty hard on his R1. His first bike ever. He says he took a corner too hard, going faster than expected. Didn't have time to react to the sharpness of the curve and went into the woods.
do you think that would have happened on a smaller bike?
Maybe, maybe not. If so, I'm willing to bet it would have been at a lower speed.
thats where I would have to disagree... i might even think it would be at a faster speed because people who don't know their limits seem to think a smaller bike handles turns better and will over exert themselves even more than on a bigger bike... just my opinion FWIW...![]()
same thing happened to my cousin......and he had a 600rr
Really think it comes down to the operator's mentality and their righthandCus really every time we throw our leg over onto a bike there is a chance we can go down, no matter how new/old we are to riding. All we (as a forum) can do is aid whoever we know in proper motorycle etiquette, and hope this gets passed on.

If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike
Well....this is mostly a 'philosophy' discussion. Interesting, but lacking in facts. I have a tendancy to try and create a universal truth from a corner case and I think theres a lot of this going on in this thread.
If the question is, '...how do we create a system that improves saftey', there are plenty of models to look at. One excercise would be to examine the per rider/per mile accident records from the various available models. If the graduated model from Germany demonstrates a significantly higher saftey record -- and I suspect it would -- then you have real data and could opt to use that model as a base.
If the thread is about '...everyone's right to be free', then that is essentially a 'religious' discussion and what you will get is a different opinion from everyone who wants to support the way 'they' ride. Some who argue this point will be sneaky and try and insert 'factual' sounding stuff but if they are ernest in doing so they fall back into the original premise. Of course, the whole 'freedom' discussion hinges on the idea of 'individual' freedom. The problem is without model that considers saftey one individual acting in their self-interest can create havoc for another individual who was simply going about their life.
(...about to click "Post Quick Reply") HAH!!!!
