Here's the 2025 grid as of yesterday: https://www.crash.net/motogp/feature...ured-2025-grid

    Binder's staying.
Acosta should be just moving garages.
FQuat, Marini & Zarco.... - welllll... "competitive" is relative.

And for those without a 2025 contract, there are a few on that list that I would be surprised to see move.

I'm with ya - I just named the title contenders. Admittingly forgot Acosta.
I love Binder, but I just don't think he's got it, unless its a Joan Mir/Nicky Hayden type season and he isn't consistent enough.

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

I'm bummed for Mr. Miller.. I know he isn't quite there at the moment but I like what he brings. Good development and fun. I understand the pressures to put people on the box but two years that include helping step the bike up... I'm bummed

In other news I am becoming a Markez fan. I've always respected his skill but disliked his seeming disregard for the safety of others on track. He looks like he is having fun and I like that..

Unfortunately Miller has been going in the wrong direction. 4 years with a factory ride and he’s done nothing with it but generate interest with English-speaking whites; as we know, the British adopt Australians when they don’t have one of their own in the mix.

Mir looks like he’s re-upping with HRC. If Takka gets replaced it will be with Ogura. I believe his only option will be with Aprilia?

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

I started to listen to the Oxley Bom podcast and really enjoying it. Mat's been my favorite journalist for awhile, but its getting tougher to get his articles for free and I don't think there is a way to get them other than a subscription to MotorSport magazine and I don't care about anything there other than Mat's articles so its tough to throw money at something in which only a fraction will go to Mat.

I'd argue his podcast is even better, its free, on spotify (along with a bunch of other plaforms), and I can donate directly to him.

Peter Bom's opinions are great too; really good combo.

I'm trying because he's on a Duc now, but I still find myself hoping for slippery tires and miscues....

I find all the talk about next year and riders already moving to other teams and who's not getting a ride is taking away from this year. lots of racing left so, I can't believe this won't affect the racing going forward. Ducati say it will support JM but will they i mean if he wins it all he takes the number 1 plate to Aprilia. Not sure that will go over well at all. Time will tell.

How can they not support JM? He's one of the strongest and consistent. I see him taking the championship. Of course Ducati wants that!

I think the factory would prefer that the champ was in house. So, Pecco or MM. Martin the faster most consistent guy? He is leading so for now yes, but the others are not far behind. And MM is now the Factory guy! And the number 1 on the Aprilia will hurt. His attitude lost him the ride along with the marketing advantage the Mark brings. Why should they want him to win over either 93 or 63?

Toprak expressing interest in a move to GP next season, that would be awesome.

Not the most entertaining race to watch up front but the battle for third was fun. Sucks for Marc that he got the after race penalty for tire pressure. I am not a big fan of the rule but I guess they have to do something to keep the teams from putting dangerous bikes out there. Moto2 and Moto3 were the races to watch this week. Those were great.

The sprint was a snoozer too. I’ll watch 2 and 3 this week…

I don't know if it has to go. I believe it is a manufacturer safety thing. I think the penalty should be adjusted. I don't know how much control the rider has over what the starting tire pressure is but I wouldn't think much if any at all. It should penalize the team points and not the rider points. Does anyone know how MotoGP pays out at the end of the year? In F1 the series pays out based on team placement. Driver standings do not matter. From my quick research 1982 Keke Rossberg won the drivers championship but his team finished 4th. If that is how MotoGP pays out then maybe that is the direction the penalty should go.

In today's race Marc ran a great race. He deserved that 4th place. He knew he had an issue with the pressure and did what he could to correct it without pitting in. IMO he should be able to keep 4th place points and his team should lose their points for the day. Of course I would take all that back if he is the one that made the pressure call.

Tire rule, why doesn't Michelin just set a minimum air pressure at the start of the warmup lap and be done with it?

Decent sprint. Tough ride for MM, would have been interesting had he not started 13th. Dipshit award for Bradl.

WOW! Some great racing from all three classes. MotoGP had some boring moments but the exciting ones were huge. I thought Marc was done after him and Frankie came together. He had one hell of a ride. Alex as well but seemed a bit lonely for most of the race. Pecco is doing what champions do and Jorge doing what non champions do. Too bad we have another 3 weeks to wait for the next race. This year is certainly delivering so far.

Strangely relaxing crash, his left hand on the bar, 1/2 expected him to POP the clutch & get it upright...

Not the most action packed race, but still exciting. Bummed for Martin. Super impressed by MM, especially with the ribs…

Martin, does he lose focus or what, it's not the 1st time he's crashed out with the lead. Love the guy, he still had .7 second lead tough one for sure how he has 3 weeks to move on. Mark is not only one of the best ever but also tough as nails. How does either he or Franko not go down there? Marks breaks shield and air bad goes off. Wow just an amazing ride for him. Brother rode great also cool to see.
Pecco is riding so well he just kept the pressure on, smooth as silk.

that was a pretty good race, think I have 2 new favorites to follow for the rest of the season.

Loved some of the old livery, thought the Castrol looked the best, Ducati didn't put much effort into it .... Wish they could have let them bring back the tobacco liveries for 1 weekend

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

Another great race weekend. GP will definitely benefit from Enea closing the gap in the points, he had an awesome ride yesterday….Sprint as well. Annoyed MM threw it into the gravel trap on Saturday, he need to score quality points every race to keep pace with the GP24’s.

Also annoyed for Joe Robert’s. He was fast but definitely didn’t have the pace he was trying to push. Great battle with Ai Ogura early in the race but just pushing a bit too hard for what he and the bike were capable of.

Was I the only one hoping Jake Dixon was going to throw it away? His post race interview confirmed I was feeling the right feelings, look up “Chav” on Urban Dictionary.

Gypsy tales podcast just released a 3 hour interview with John Kocinski. I haven’t listened yet but I’m looking forward to it when I get a chance. https://youtu.be/1PyGWZi91m8?si=-HMPeBitpu_xKZlS

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

I heard something about Simon Crafar replacing Freddie Spencer on the safety committee? That mean we're gonna lose his insider commentary? That'd suck. I love hearing him chime in on the tech details.

    Found an official releas. https://www.motogp.com/en/news/2024/...202.1709948868

Simon Crafar: “I’m really looking forward to taking on this new challenge. I did not take the decision lightly to make this change and accept this appointment, as it means leaving a role I’ve enjoyed a lot, but after seven years in MotoGP commentary I am ready for something new. I will approach this new position utilising my experience on and off the bike as rider, technician, coach and journalist, but more importantly with my love for our sport and respect for its competitors. I feel honored to be trusted with this responsibility and to have been nominated for the role.”
Bummer for us but good for him.

Yeah, going to miss Simon on the air for sure, he’s the best part of the broadcast. That said, I think this is a great position for him and the sport.
