    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

    That's a wrap.
Seems like B was the theme.
    Great performance from Bez

    Epic Boner move from Morbidildo

    Brilliant Burnout by Olivera.

Bummed that the season is over.. Had a great time watching it unfold this season.
I'm converted into a MM fan from a hater. Much respect to him for making such an epic comeback.
The season showed some new talent riding to the top. This is much needed.
As much as I like to hate on Honda for sport I am happy they are getting their bike sorted out. The series needs them to perform. Now if Mir can stay out of the sandbox...

Yamaha needs to get their shit together.

Bring on 2026 Round 1 already..

interesting year for sure. Once MM was out, I found the racing to be better. Glad for him as he is the best (Goat) of the modern era.

Yup. The same happened back in 2020 when he broke his humerus. Suddenly, everyone on the grid believed they could win the championship and began fighting harder & taking bigger risks. The racing that resulted was absolutely awesome. Easily some of the most exciting seasons of MotoGP ever.

That said, like you guys, I'm glad he's back and in top form. It's incredible to see how dominating he is. To me, I think he's proved that he's the best roadracer that's ever lived and deserves to be #1 in the record books.

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

I was happy for Marc this year, but not looking forward to next year.
I hope when he gets his 9th premier class and take the record, he goes back to Honda.

Only comment I have from this weekend is I think this is the first time Simon made a call I didn’t agree with. I don’t understand the penalty on Jack, especially considering Fermin did not get a penalty the prior weekend for his move on Brad.

Definitely not the worst call, just a bit off brand for how Simon has been policing this season. I’m still super happy with his calls over the season.

Simon is doing something that hasn't been done before. Instead of policing, he's creating a riding culture within motogp. This is a very smart move and I know from experience that it works. look at moto3 for proof. It used to be nearly every race that 2 or more riders were taken out on the last lap. That is pretty rare already.

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

He is definitely the right man for the job. Former (competetive) racer, incredibly up-to-date with modern tech and racing, runs a school, and maybe most importantly - highly respected by the racers and teams. Every race, I still miss him commentating.

I feel like niche sports typically have old timey, good ol' boys, that don't know anything (at least anything current), maybe never raced, and are afraid of pissing anyone off. Simon's the guy that will go talk to Jack directly and hash it out after hearing his comments, not hide behind a monitor or get defensive.

He was very good one of the best at that job. Seems to be going about his new role with the same passion. He missed on Jacks penalty but his batting
Average is very high and fair for the most part. What to do about Franky M? He just a knucklehead or what?

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

I think Simon is on the right track. Overall his team got it right.

I still miss him on screen. His awkward pauses and all. He was fantastic. Great technical insight that we didn't get to see this year. I expected that the broadcast team would have tried to find a replacement for his technical view point.

Test day one complete. The new kids had a chance to taste the candy and I think they liked it.

    Bring on 2026 already.

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

MotoGP "could use" some of F1's street circuits, says CEO
    https://www.autosport.com/motogp/new...-ceo/10779516/
Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has not ruled out the possibility of MotoGP hosting races on some of the street circuits featured on the Formula 1 calendar.

MotoGP is at a pivotal moment following the acquisition of its promoter Dorna Sports by Liberty Media, the same media company that owns F1 outright.

The move has naturally generated a lot of anticipation around the possibility of both series employing synergies and growing closer together. For years, many people have mused about the possibility of F1 and MotoGP hosting a joint race weekend in the future, even before the two series came under the same ownership.

While that remains nothing more than an idea as of now, Ezpeleta spent the past weekend attending F1’s self-promoted Las Vegas Grand Prix and was full of praise of the show Liberty Media put together, telling Spanish broadcast DAZN: “In terms of spectacle, what they do is incredible.”

Asked about the possibility of MotoGP hosting a race in the middle of a major city, similar to F1’s glamorous Vegas event, Ezpeleta said he was open to the idea, as long as safety of riders could be ensured.

We have no problem racing on street circuits; the only thing we need is run-off areas, and in Las Vegas it’s difficult to have them,” he said.

“But there are some F1 street layouts that we could use. For us, safety is the most important aspect. Since we took charge of the championship in 1992, that has been our commitment to the riders, and we will not relax on that.”

Ezpeleta added that the Indonesian Grand Prix is held on what is framed as a partial street circuit. “Theoretically, Mandalika is urban, and we race there.”

In the last few decades, and even more so after Liberty’s takeover of F1 in 2017, the series has increasingly shifted towards street circuits, with the aim of turning grands prix into Super Bowl-style spectacles.

This year’s F1 calendar features six bonafide street circuits (Melbourne, Jeddah, Baku Monaco, Singapore, Las Vegas), two semi-street circuits (Montreal and Miami) and two additional city races on permanent tracks (Mexico and Abu Dhabi). Madrid will be added to the list next year.

Five permanent F1 circuits already host MotoGP annually: Losail, Austin, Barcelona, the Red Bull Ring and Silverstone. That list could expand further if MotoGP returns to the Shanghai International Circuit, although this is not expected before 2027.

Looks like Martin is up to it again. Surgery just before testing so now he cant test. I predict another year of little riding and a lot of excuses. Apparently FQ is linked to Honda and Martin is going to Yamaha next year.

FQ to Honda, doubt it was a money thing he must not like what he sees going on at Yamaha. Martin is crazy to leave Aprilia.

Kinda off topic but I started rewatching the 2010 motogp season, holy crap the grid is amazing, Rossi, Pedrosa, Stoner, Simoncelli, Lorenzo, to name a few, and 3 Americans too.

That was indeed an amazing era in MotoGP.

So who's got the 2026 silly season summary so far? I've been outta the loop a bit but heard that after this season Fabio's going from Yamaha to Honda, Jorge Martin from Aprilia to Yamaha to replace him, and Pecco from Ducati to Aprilia and Acosta from KTM to Ducati to replace Pecco?

Shit's wild! What else? Who's leaving Honda to make room for Fabio?

I bet Marini leaves. He has more options. Mir really hasnt done anything since the title and really that was kind of a gift. He will probably take what he can get which is why he has been at Honda with the crappy bike. Zarco is getting a bit old to be bike hopping and seems to be a good development rider. I think Honda would like to keep him just for that.

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

I haven’t heard much about pecco leaving yet.

Last I heard on Fabio to Honda was that the rumor came form a very reliable source.
Acosta to Ducati seems likely, but TBD on which team
Marc only wants a 1 year deal for 2027
I dunno about Martin - I agree he’s unlikely to stay, but don’t know where he will land. Such a shame how things have turned out, his antics and his injuries.
I also heard Alex Marquez is looking to leave Ducati.

VR46 needs to get their shit together. I’d love to see them get back to their ethos and develop young Italians riders. Right now it’s just the good ol’ boys having grand ol’ time on sponsorship dollars. The problem is that it isn’t entertain or fun for fans like Rossi was - it’s just fun for them.

I can’t wait for 2027. I’m gonna watch every second of 2026, but imagine another snoozefest with a few moments here and there.

I don’t see any way Marc doesn’t win again, barring injury. Maybe a good fight between Alex and Bez for second. The other mfgs won’t waste time and money trying to fix their current spec bikes.
