    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

First lap was exciting. Maybe they should make Marc start every race 1 handed. It seems that once Pecco really gets challenged he kind of gives up. Third isn't terrible but it is not where he should be. I think if this was a full distance race Maverick would have taken Pecco. Hopefully tomorrow is a bit more to watch then today.

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

I woke up late just in time to catch the last Parc Ferme.....

    On Rewatch
Pretty Epic first 6 or 7 laps of the GP..
The Morbidozer showed up again and ruined Vagnails day... Too bad. He had some momentum..

The Factory Ducs had some pretty dang intricate livery.. Pretty sharp..

Marc is really settling in with the GP25 and fixin to go on a run I think.. I hope I'm wrong..

Another shit day for the Hondas... Just when I thought Zarco was getting on with it....

Moto 2 had a fun fight with Tattoo and some dude for third at the end.. Pretty solid fight.. I wish he could get his head right and make the step to dominance.

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

Yep, great start to the race, but cream rises to the top again. Seems like Marc has gotten past his early crashes and settled into the mentality that he doesn’t have to lead on the out lap and push too hard too early. At this point it will take an injury for the title to come back into contention.

Good race, entertaining, GO DIGI!!!! great showing!!! Gotta be a to Pecco being the 4th DUCATI

And what was with that "missed" long lap attempt, don't recall seeing anyone do that before...(i'm sure they have)

Wasn't a fan of any of the new livery this weekend, the "Maroon" Ducs had me thinking of 80s GM interiors and I thought the VRs livery was "cheap" looking/feeling, like it was submitted to a marketing contest...

Agreed! I didn't like either livery. And I couldn't tell Marc and Pecco apart on track. Just generally too dark and not enough contrast.

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

I'm still sticking with my original observation: The GP24 is going to go down as one of the best bikes in history

Jorge & Pecco were on them last year and fought for the championship.
Franky was on one last year and now this year, and he just doesn't have it anymore. He's fast, but not fast enough.
Alex is on one now, and made a major step over last year from the GP23.
Farmin Aldeguer is having a hell of a season as a rookie on one.
Digia went from GP23 to a GP25. He is regularly behind Pecco this season, and sometimes by lots of positions. I'm pretty confident Pecco would have been third if he rode for points and not the win/crowd at Misano.
Marc is the only true Alien (other than maybe FQ).

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

First few laps were very entertaining. I think if Pecco could hold up front for a bit he might be harder to beat for the win. It just seems to me once he gets challenged hard he just kind of folds and settles for next best. Kind of like nascar points racing. At this point he really needs to throw caution to the wind and try some funky shit or he has no shot this year. It is bad enough he has been losing out to Alex on last years bike but Digia should not be in front of him.

Really bummed for Maverick. I thought he had something for the win this weekend after what he did in the sprint. Morbidelli should probably be taken aside and told to stop his shit or they will sit him for a race. He has done too much wacky shit in practice and races for it to be looked over now.

Lucky for us we get a fun series of races shotgunned at us in the next few weeks.

missed this one as I was doing my own two wheeled thing. Saw the highlights MM is just head and shoulders above the rest! Close racing just gets makes him faster!

This was Pecco's attempt at trying something new and throwing caution to the wind. It didn't work.
I don't think he's giving up, he just doesn't have the speed.

And this years bike is worse than last years. Marc is just being Marc.

This year's championship comes down to MM not crashing and getting hurt otherwise it's a done deal. Don't get me wrong he is amazing and far above everyone else. He might be the best rider of all time. The competition is not soft, these guys are trying and riding hard AM and Pecco are not giving it to him. But I can see that He(mm) has upped his game and the more they try to rattle him the more he just says is that all you got and pulls away. Truly awesome.

    Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)

AM isn't just handing it to him, but he also isn't showing him a wheel. He makes passes on Marc's mistakes and that is about it.
Conversely, he's historically been a bowling ball with everyone else when he's in the pack.

I get it and I can't fault him - its his brother and the smart move for the championship.

    I'll enjoy 2025 & 2026, but I really can't wait for 2027 with the new rules.
Unfortunately, Marc is kinda boring to watch on the Ducati. That bike looks slow when its at its fastest, and fast when its going slow.

I don't think Alex can really pressure Marc. I don't recall him being a bowling ball type rider but he is also not at the same level as his brother. He is a moto2 and moto3 champion.

I agree Marc is boring to watch on the Ducati. The bike is just too good and he doesn't need to over ride it to get results.

I still am on the fence with the 27 rules package. Last time they tried the 800cc thing the racing was more boring then what we have this year. Only thing that really excites me is maybe we get lucky and a few manufacturers really hit off well.

For me, its the removal of ride height devices, limited aero, and new tire mfg.
Ride height devices have more or less leveled the playing field on corner exits, reducing passing opportunities. Front hole shot devices also make the starts unsafe. There have been lots of failures of them disengaging, and in mixed conditions you get some people using them and some not.
Giant aero has really messed with following riders, reducing passing opportunities.
New tire supplier will be a much needed shake-up. Also, no more stupid front tire pressure rules.
Engine size...yeah, I dunno what this may do. It could bring things closer or it could massively benefit the mfg. that gets it right. Tough to tell who this is going to be.

I was just thinking it would be interesting to see him riding the Yamaturd to see what he could do with it. Mostly just for the fun of it... Lol.
He has some serious ability to ride a bike that isn't all it needs to be.

Agreed... he had that huuuuge slide on the front that he somehow saved, but lost the lead... Pretty sure that was him just pushing to the limit to break away and it just wasn't happening this weekend.

That was DEFINITELY when he gave it up. And I understood it to. I caught it out of the corner of my eye and thought he was crashing. It went on for so long. I don't think they ever replayed it, or I missed it.
From the debriefs and everything, he absolutely destroys is front tire riding like that, was able to hang on for another big chunk of the race using the rear, but eventually wore that out too and had nothing left to keep pace.

Skills wise, I don't think there is much splitting Pecco, Alex, and even Jorge Martin. Its all about with Ducati they're on. If they force Alex to the GP25 and Pecco can go back to GP24 next year, that will complete the picture.

They did... once... and it was amazing. If it were MM93, they woulda replayed it 100 times, we'd still be seeing reels on all the motogp social media accounts and everyone would still be losing their minds and talking about it.

And, somebody is going to beat Marc this round. He doesn't need to win, and he's been down twice. He should cruise to 2nd or 3rd IMO. So, who to bet on is the question.

Someone might be Marc this round. We both know he is not going to cruise around to 2nd or 3rd. This guy has been nothing but all in every race. Might be more entertaining to watch for us.
