I was just told that at the next event TTD is having a benefit bbq for the Karen Hornbecker fund, and they have convinced the powers that be to allow all the proceeds to go directly to Chris as he qualifies for the help. Not sure but there may be a raffle and beer, yum. Thought I'd throw it out there so maybe people could work up an appetite on Sat. and pig out at the bbq.

Larry, thank you for the update as well. Its great to see that he is still fighting and looks to be making some progress. He needs to wake up soon, hes been napping for far too long.

I know its not an ideal solution - especially with all of the donations that we are collecting but I work specifically with Unforeseeable Emergency situations when it comes to unforeseen medical expenses and or a sudden and unexpected illness or accident (both of which Chris clearly qualifies for) - does he have a 401(k) 457(b) or a 403(b)? or does anyone list him as a primary beneficiary on their 401, 457 or 403? If he does while I don't recommend taking a Hardship Withdrawal from it if it can be avoided - sometimes the need greatly far out weighs any of the cons - if need be it can be done.
Its something to keep in mind, I'm considered an expert in the process since I created the current process for my company (a very large 200 year old insurance company). While the process differs company to company the industry standards are relatively similar - we all have to follow the same IRS regulations. If it comes down to it and the need is significant let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Even if its just to answer any questions or clarify a term.
Chris is in my thoughts daily - get well soon bud.
If you can't race it or take it to bed.....it's not worth having.
Eat. Ride. Sleep. Repeat.
Definately a good sign, thanks again for the update! Continueing to keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
trixie, we're hoping it won't come to that but if it does we're coming to you for info. And thanks.

Weekend update: Heard from Kate (Chris' g/f) tonight and she had pretty good news about Chris. He is now breathing pretty much on his own. The ventilator is still there but is set to only kick in if he cannot breathe for some reason, which hasn't happened. His lungs had been collapsed and they are now beginning to function well enough to breathe. So now we can too
Also he has opened his eyes but only for a moment or two at a time. She says he isn't reacting to her all that much yet but we're hoping that it's just his brain beginning to slowly wake up and testing the waters.
So a better weekend for Chris this weekend. And thanks for everyone's help.
