It's my experience that Tesla's ride firm and others are generally softer. But it's also my experience that.teslas offer the most car like driving experience versus the others. other than polestar they are the easiest to just jump in and go if aren't familiar with evs. No lie. My lucid took nearly two hours to learn how to drive it. That's sitting in it and the car explaining how to operate it safely. Just figuring out how to lock and unlock the car took effort because it's a shit system.Quote:

Some cars do get it close to right but are generally an inferior product or have some serious issues to get it to drive that way. The prologue\blazer is a good example. Pretty suv like exempt for the massive weight. It's doable to get in and drive but to get that way it has a control system that crashes all the time and axles that fail in a few thousand miles. The price paid for a decent drive makes the car nearly unusable long term.
The EV4 we test drove was just trash because of the infotainment. Rode fine, but man, day to day in that thing would be miserable.
The Rivian has been the easiest of any EV I've experienced to just get in and go, where things make sense on where/how.
I bet we could make a Rivian R1S work for us. The $75k base model is probably fine. Looks like you may be able to get one for ~$65k.
Meanwhile carvana has like 5 AWD Hybrid Siennas in our area for like $40k. $25k will buy a lot of miles @ ~30-35MPG. Even at maga prices.
I think rivians hold value like no other ev. Something to consider. The r2 is supposedly great as well.
Don't forget to dig around in NH rebates. They might have some good ones. In Mass I would knock off $3500 right off the price and know I will have the charging station installed for free and possibly get discounted electric rates.

Friendly reminder the lucid gravity is just a touch more than the rivian. I would test both to be honest. Lucid is right in the Natick mall.
I'm not saying it was a good car to buy, just that there was no learning curve. It was a dumb decision by Dodge. No one that buys a charger wants an EV. Especially not a fake rocket ship noise making one.Quote:

$3500 off for mass residents. I think they can do that at the dealership. If your trading in you can get extra cash from the state as well. I think most packages have some sort of discount offers as well. When I was looking they loved making special deals for in stock trucks so if you have flexibility you could save several thousand more maybe. For me my only requirement was dual motor and bigger battery. I didn't care about anything else. I didn't buy one but they knocked a good amount of money off to try and get me to buy.
I'm considering taking advantage of the depreciation on Porsche EV's and picking up Taycan Cross Turismo 4 in lizard green, LOVE me a sporty wagon....down like 65% from MSRP and the not great range keeps most people away..

You didn't look too hard. Without even trying this one would be about $70k with rebates and such. Trade in a car and you could be in the 60s with added rebates. They would deliver it your driveway today and you wouldn't pay to charge it for years at some superchargers. That's free gas for years, when have you even been given free gas? I spent over $5k on gas last year just myself, never mind the wife. Probably close to $8k overall. Now I just put gas in the motorcycles, the rest is free supercharging. For me, that $80k vehicle would be almost free in 6 years if I really push the numbers.
Still expensive yes but when you start really looking at these expensive evs they aren't too expensive in the long run. Leasing changes the dynamic even more. More rebates and no depreciation hit if you want to avoid that aspect. Personally I wouldn't lease but it seems to be a lot of people's choice these days.
