Re: Alas, a non-bulky alternative to the Chatterbox.

Well... It works at 0mph in my bedroom but I haven't tested it on the bike yet.

I'm kinda bummed my phone won't play MP3's through the headset & my phone's GPS doesn't give me turn-by-turn through the headset either.... but I wasn't really expecting it to do that, it was just wishful thinking.

It does however connect to my standalone MP3 player via a chord... and it can connect to a standalone bluetooth equipped GPS.... and I've already begun programing my FM radio presets. Basically, it's done all it's advertised so I can't complain about that.

Overall, I'm happy w/ it, but I won't know for sure how much I like it till I actually use the thing while I'm on the bike.

TLRMan likes his though & his is a step or two below this one.

Update after a little on-road use.

    Bike to passenger is great.
    Phone calls are great.
FM receiver is junk (very tinny sound & weak antenna)

So it CAN'T be the only way to go, otherwise I wouldn't be able to go somewhere else... right?

Got mine a couple of months ago and agree with your assessment. I'll add that bike-to-bike is fantastic. I was really surprised by the range. I could speak clearly with my wife a quarter mile ahead. Could even hear the bugs bouncing off her face shield.

Get yourself a Backberry Curve with ATT Telenav. It works through the headset, which is great for even the car. The only thing that sucks (and why I cancelled it) is that the service is $10/mo and requires unlimited internet, which is $30. I got a garmin nuvi 360 instead.

Thats why you ge the Spring Unlimited Everything plan and you don't have to worry about calling, texting, internet, gps... it's all included.

I actually try to see how many minutes I can talk in a month to get the most out of my plan... last month I had over 2000 mins and 400 text messages (Not all from me, my girlfriend uses it when we are at home too). didn't cost me a penny more than $99 (plus all the stupid taxes)

So far, this website - LXtronics.com - Search - has proved to be THE CHEAPEST place to find it online. I just emailed them asking about the Q2 multi-set that's on backorder. SOOOOO hoping to get a pair.
That link is broken, are they out of business? When you got the multi-set, was it new/unopened, not gray market? I searched LXtronics and it led to another company with some sketchy reviews. I'm definitely interested in getting a MUlti-set and that price is damn good. The biggest drawback on paper is that it's not A2DP (no Bluetooth stereo). Have you tried bike-to-bike much yet? How's the range?

They're on ebay now for about 245 shipped. Google shopping hasn't found anything considerably lower than that .

    Ebay!

I love mine, on my second set (only because I wanted bluetooth prioritization). I've had my first set since 2007 and they still work fine...and they work with the Q2's I just got back in June.

I'm not Pete but I did sleep at a holiday inn last night

    I'm diggin em!

The FM antenna on the Q2 sucks, though. But otherwise,

As an added bonus, I use Verizon Navigator and it talks to me through the headset
