We can put it out there for the Wifi. As for the cell phone, Verizon works well....although you'd think that a Sprint Cup track would have good Sprint coverage.....
There are several proposed changes for 2012. This is perhaps the thing that gets the most discussion among the regular officials. On the dockett as for goals are to lengthen Saturday and shorten Sunday a bit. There has been some talk of moving the EX/AM GT races back to Saturday, and that will set off a chain reaction of changes from there. We'll see how it goes.
Eric (or anyone else that might know), do you have any insight onto the live timing feature on my.nhms.com?
I never did end up getting it to work. Not sure if a fix for that is already in the works or not.
I tried using IE, Firefox and Google Chrome.

it works on my Droid mobile phone...i haven't tried anything else.
1. The new scoreboard is great. However, why do they have (AM/EX Races) overall positions? They separate practice times in colors why not do the same for the races? Amateur and experts positions with separate colors? I have no clue what position my amateur buddy is in for when its all mixed. ( no cost there!)
2. A fair amount of guys call their races by weather. If you preregister on either sat/sun by the time you reg and tech you are almost guaranteed to miss first practice. Open up preregister and tech a bit earlier? 6:30 -7 vice 7:30?
3. Pleaseeeeeeee fix the intercom. A big plus would to be able to hear announcements in the bowl section.
4. Air fence section in turn three. Those tires aren't that comfortable to slide into. Air fence section at the blue marker turn 10.
5. Delete the bump in twelve, smooth transition in turn 10, and deripple straight going into turn three
6. Repaint the grid position markers at the start. A bit tough to find sometimes in bad weather.
7. More stands at one turn one, two, and three would be welcome.
8. I'm all for the pit bike races!!
9. What ever I missed
Thanks for talking the time to make it a fun and safer place to race!

Sending PM
I attended my first race on Sunday with my daughter. The first thing that hit me was the sign out by the road said nothing of the races of the day. I expected at least "Racing today". Or better yet "2011 LRRS Championships decided today" "Stop in and see the fastest racers on two wheels in the northeast battle it out TODAY for 2011 glory"
As a newby I second the separate Am and Ex standings on the score board.
As a TD rider i also like the air fence in T3 idea.
BTW. We had a great time watching the races and tooling around in the pits.
Next year we plan on making many more races except we will have numbers on the bike.![]()
The sign on the road...yes, that should be done.
THe scoreboard.....honestly, I'm happy just to have it. I think that adding a degree of complexity to it to separate classes may be a bit much to ask. We can put in the request, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Just having that thing up there to see what race is out there, how many laps have been run....is really helpful.
Airfence, we need to spread it around when the new stuff shows up next season. It's crazy money ($1000 per section) and as such there is not a budget to get unlimited amounts. I have considered turn three before....mainly in the crash area on the left where we are going fast (the runoff in the braking area). Impacts against the wall once you've passed the apex tend to be very slow. It may look scary but those crashes rarely hurt anyone.
I look forward to seeing you up there next year.

There will be communication going out shortly to the marketing department regarding spreading the word. There is a little miscommunication over where the effort needs to be in order to reach the largest interested audience. This is something I will be working on over the winter.

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
For what it's worth, I am 100% in favor of keeping the Novice class. The races they do may change a little, as may the schedule, but I feel that this class is absolutely a positive and should be retained. We're not having time issues, and the benefits to running this class are there for everyone at all levels (NV, AM & EX) from a safety standpoint. I've laid out reasoning for this stuff before, and if there is an effort to get rid of this class for some reason I will fight it in the name of both rider safety and growing the series to attract new riders.

Expert-Amateur GTO/GTU/GTL Races moved back to first Races on Saturday. Always liked to use the 20-minute (14 to 15-lap) races to gradually work up to racing speeds early in the weekend.
Novice GTL/Ultra GTL & Novice GTO/GTU moved to Final Races on Sunday. This will help motivate Novices to Bumping up to Amateur sooner.

thx. without novice class i never would have started racing this year..
I know this seems trivial, but I think the age limit could be changed for use of two wheels in the pits. I understand the whole safety issues with motorized vehicles and such, but my 15 year old got kicked off his bicycle and hates to come watch if he has to walk everywhere.
I taught him well about giving the racers thr right of way![]()

It's not trivial....my kids were in the same boat. Austin got licensed at first just so that he could ride a scooter around the pits. My daugther is excited that she is now 16 and can do the same. The problem is insurance and the fact that in spite of responsible people like you, there have been cases of kids getting into incidents with people on race bikes, and that's always ugly.
From what I've been told, when kids race, insurance companies can show a jury that they have been through proper training, have above average skills and tracks & organizations have a leg to stand on in court if something happens. Jurors have a history of siding with "untrained", injured children....
It's a tough deal and I'm not sure what the best solution is. I've lived with kids that hated that rule for the past 10 years and I really get it. However, it just takes one stupid accident and the whole operation can come to a halt.
Excuse the duplicates, but here's my $.02
Easier registration
Print tech sheet and waiver at home, sign, bring to tech, done.
Registration open all day, not the 8:30am cutoff. (I almost missed out on Saturday due to a brain fart) Sign up late, go to the back of the grid.
Cornerworkers wear white only
I find the orange vests distracting. At quick glance, it looks like a red flag - especially in T1, T3 chute, and the treehouse. A spectator told me she looked to the treehouse from the infield & thought it was a red flag. When I see a color at a corner station, I'm expecting a flag of some sort. If they have to wear vests, how about HiViz green or something?
Split up the GT races
All of them on Sunday makes for a long afternoon. AM/EX Saturday, NV Sunday, as suggested. Maybe they don't need to be the last race of the day, but I felt it was better when they all weren't in one day. PLUS, it's good to get up to race speed, if you don't get the Friday practices in.
Use the signs
Since NHMS put up the signs at the entrance(s) of the track, I've always wondered why they're not promoting THAT weekend's events. I've driven by on non-LRRS weekends to see cars ripping over the hill and wondered what was going on & if I should stop in. They can run the NASCAR ticket advertising at every other moment.
Move the weekends
Looks like this is happening, thanks. Mid April & Mid October are pushing it for NH.
ULSB
Keep the SVs out of it as per usual. This class used to be a pretty cool group of bikes (Ducs, RS250s, Hawks, etc), now it's 3 Ducati 800s, a Monster, a Hawk, and the rest are Motards. Maybe I need to recruit more Ducs / Hawks.
Fix the PA
Even in the north garage, it blasts in my ear just fine during the trophy presentations, but cuts out when Scott Mullin puts a sweet pass on Ricky. Coincidence?
Keep the Novices
I've done some track day instructing and have seen plenty of experienced riders that aren't ready to be thown in with expert racers. Get some time under your belt in full-on race situations before getting tossed in with the white plate guys. Much safer for everyone IMO.
Mayhem
I really like the extras that are put on throughout the season. The motard races, scooter / pit bike races, Larry lap, and of course the wheelie show. Great fun and a small entry fee for the Karen Hornbecker fund is certainly worthwhile.
I appreciate everything that's been done and I'm trying to do my part to get people at and ON the track - and keep them there. There are plenty of people I used to have fun racing with that aren't here anymore. How they they can pull the needle out of their arm like that is beyond me.

One thing I would like to see is an endurance race at one of the events. (Classic Weekend maybe?) I did the USCRA endurance race this year and it was the most fun I have ever had on 2 wheels. I think a LRRS team endurance race would be a BLAST.

Right I get it. And I am ok with the fact that they cannot ride a motorized vehicle until they have a legal lic or race license. And I guess I get the bicycle thing too....how do you control the masses and how do you determine which ones are responsible etc etc....
The fact still remains that as an adult coming to the track with 2 or more minors there is no easy way to get around. Inevitably someone needs to use the restroom or wants to get a drink or we want to watch the next race from another location and it takes a hike to get there.
Maybe they could rent the spectators a golf cart so we can get around. If I had one kid a scooter would be ok, but two does not work so well.
A hovercraft seems like the best solution
