My filament dryer came in today so I should be able to get the printer fired up again. Now to figure out how to use this scanner app and print something afterwards.

I picked it up a couple weeks ago, it’s a sweet ride and in incredibly good condition for it’s age.

The elusive diamond shaped gaskets, have been found
It’ll be an expensive bill for the parts coming, but should be the last of it.
I’ve got all the pressure fuel lines coming, the 4 diamond airbox gaskets, and a new set of throttle bodies. The throttle bodies I only need the 4 fuel injectors from, but having spare parts is a good thing I guess.

Insane. I can't believe you tracked these parts down.

Estimate on what the bike is worth when done? Are they that rare? This like a $20k bike?

It’s been frustrating at times, but the challenge of finding parts has been satisfying.

The bike as it sits now, is probably worth about $50k. Once complete and running, probably $65-70k.
It’s been quite a few years since an R7 has sold on iconic, but the last one sold for north of $50k, with way more miles/KM’s than mine.

I have no intention of selling it.

Let the fun start, question is, will it run?

The remaining chain guard parts are also on their way.

The R7 badge isn’t really a big deal, it’s the OW-02 that really sets it apart from others. The OW-01, was the homologation version of the FZR750/FZR750RR.

I’ve found most parts on a FB group. The owner of the group used to be involved with the WSB series with Yamaha. Most of what he has, are YEC race parts for the OW-02… which are even more rare than the standard OW-02 parts, but he does have quite a few new old stock parts.

From the same group, I was able to connect with Sidz Motorcycle Racing from South Africa, the owner has 2 R7’s. I had spares that came with my bike that he needed, he had spares from his bikes that I needed, so we traded parts.

Iconic motorbikes has been a huge help as well. One of their techs had a bunch of R7 parts that I bought.
It’s definitely been a challenging and time consuming effort to find parts.

That adds such a fun history to the bike even though they have enough.

Re: Bad decisions were made today..

Spent a little time working on the bike this evening. Replaced the four primary fuel injectors, cleaned the fuel rails, put all the new gaskets and sensors in the airbox, installed the new fuel lines, and cleaned and installed the secondary shower injectors.
No more codes on the dash now that everything is hooked up properly.
I need to clean the inside of the fuel tank, put some fresh fuel in it, and see if it runs.

lol, sorry about that. I tried this evening, while I did get it to start briefly, fuel was starting to leak from the fuel pump gasket. It wasn’t worth the risk of letting it warm up with the fuel leak.
I ordered a new gasket, just need to wait for it to come in.

I’m unsure if it’s accurate or not. I was told it had about 2,000 km on it when I bought it, but wasn’t able to verify for a couple months after I bought it and had a set of keys made.

I haven’t had much luck yet.
It wants to start, I can it to start spraying fuel in the throttle bodies with a hand sprayer, but it won’t start with its own fuel system.
I haven’t a new OE fuel pump, new fuel lines, cleaned the fuel rails, replaced the fuel regulator, replaced the injectors, and still can’t get it to kick. It starts, but instantly stalls.
    Any ideas?

Do you have fuel pressure? Is the pump kicking on with the ignition then shutting off when it reaches needed pressure prime?

Yes, it builds and holds fuel pressure. The pump also kicks on and off as it should.
It seems like an injector issue to me, even tho I replaced them with new old stock ones, they are still 25 years old.

Put 9-12vdc power on each one and see if they open.

Are electrical connections in the proper place for each injector?

Chances the wire harness is reversed?

Is the timing set correctly? Cams, flywheel, crank.

Is there an injector pulse signal/pickup/ sensor?
