needs more participants. the few that were out there were good. Dan was a riot on the scooter though and the dude on the tiny pitbike was really good too, those things are not easy to do a good wheelie cause they just want to fall over.
MORE Bob Perkins Pitbike race. highlight of the weekend for my watching.

2011 Pit Bike Race CHAMPION!
So what was the track for the pitbike race? Anyone got pics of the layout?
I have to say the novice class is a must, there's just so many on a given weekend. Ive said to myself, "why don't they run Nov and Am together" and let the Ex class be solo, but the ex class can be as thin as the novice class is thick. I like how ccs does some ex and am races separate, but if they had a novice class they wouldn't have time to.
If there was enough room on the schedule it would be nice to have one race separating Ex and Am... im sure some of the top Ex's would like one race where they are not lapping Amateurs after the 4th lap, it would just have to fit into an already tight schedule.
it slows me down way more than anything else..
still very scared of it
Other than that I think a bit more of an entry level racing championship can be organized for the people who they wanna go faster than they do on track days but cannot afford a complete all year around racing championship? Unless it already exists?
You could race vintage, reportedly it's a little more laid back & cheaper...can't speak from experience, myself.

For getting out to other racetracks, it's a nice way to go. AHRMA visits some nice places and the crowd is definitely more tame.
no one says you have to do every round. Nothing wrong with staying a novice for a long time if you aren't ready to move up. and really it doesn't matter if you're a top expert or a last place novice, you still ride your own pace.
This has only been my first year of racing and I thought it was a pretty inviting group. I think out of all the novices I started with at the beginning of the year the only one I knew before was Jimmy and I've had fun with some moving into amateur and still go and talk to ones that haven't bumped yet and encourage them. Everyone I have met this year while racing have been cool.
I think if you wanna race next year then LRRS is probably the best place around to get started. You're only out there with other novices so its not too intimidating. you've done some track days so you know some racers already plus there's a ton on here, so you have help for your first weekend. No need to go about it all alone.

Umm, well, I can't find the second one...it was a get started in racing cheap thread, maybe somebody else knows where it is.
But basically, if you need a hand, most racers will jump to get somebody hooked.

Gino also has a post somewhere about the one-race-a-weekend-program, but it takes a lot of willpower.

One way to get familiar with the track, and how the faster guys are riding it, while keeping your costs for racing down is to race one day and cornerwork the next (or vice versa). It'll extend the length of time you are a novice, but the cost savings of only racing one day, and the fact that yes, cornerworking pays (albeit not terribly well), you can get into racing for a little less financial output. I am there pretty much all the time, and have conned racers into working here and there. Most every one of them loves it, if only for the aspect of getting to pick apart a corner they are struggling with (for example, if you struggle in T3, request it in the morning and see if you can figure out what you are doing right/wrong) or the joy of playing in traffic. If you have questions about it, PM me.

LRRS is formulating the 2011 schedule now. If you guys want to put suggestions in to Tom Blanchette, Jery Gappens and Wanda Dumas regarding ways that you think that we can improve on this year's schedule, now is the time to do so.
My input:
1st event - last weekend in April
Last event - First weekend in October / Last weekend in September
Avoid conflicts with NJMP AMA national
Avoid conflicts with NJMP CCS races (if possible)
Avoid conflicts with CCS race of champions
If anyone has a desire to run Daytona (which I think is an experience everyone should have at least once), please tell the guys at NHMS. I really believe in being part of a national organization like CCS and having our guys aspire to go down to Florida at the end of the year to test their mettle against the best guys from elsewhere around the country. I can remeber days when LRRS racers went down there and cleaned house - winning more championships than the Florida region guys, who naturally have the biggest numbers at this event. We all become part of a team down there...us against them...and it's a lot of fun to compete together. I know I've got some great memories going down there with the crew from up north....it's one of those things that really brings the group together.
I think that NHMS needs to hear that having the option to go to the ROC is important....from any of you who agree with my sentiments.
Yeah, I'd love to do Daytona at some point. Just need the stars to align.

2011 Pit Bike Race CHAMPION!
I believe the Vintage Bikes run on the Monday following the Labor Day weekend. If you haven't been to those you should! They run a long program for one day and I can't see how they would get a 3 hour endurance race in.
Eric, if you are still taking votes;
1) Registration- If we pre-register and pay online, why cant we just print a tech sheet out and take it to tech. Somehow at all the NJMP CCS events I can get done in 10-15 min what takes 1 1/2 hrs at Loudon. Kind of makes "pre-entry" a waste.
2) Penguin practice- Please let us get lap times, thats what practice is for, right?
3) Grid waves. For me its crazy that the 125s start before expert ptwins. They should start behind us like they did at the classic. The race that Jeff and Shane raced. We catch them soon and often and it tends to be some un-needed hairy passing.
4) I think thats it and know the EX mafia is with me on these points.
