If you had a hard on (and too much money) to fight these travel bans you probably could. R7 is correct, in that driving is not a right, but freedom of movement is a right. One could argue that you can walk where you want to go, but that's probably unwise as well. Especially with the "allowance" for the media, anyone who has a blog or YouTube channel today can claim to be media and it's hard to prove that they aren't (regardless of media licensing).

Like many current laws, they are enforceable until someone decides to challenge it.

This is a good example of why I live in NH and not MA. In NH, they issue an advisory -- tell you it's not a good idea to travel, and then leave it to you to make your decision. MA, OTOH, promises to harm you if you don't take their "advice".

I prefer a state that treats people more like adults, to one that treats everyone like children. Now it might be reasonable to set it up like some of the parks do -- you're free to do what you want, but if we have to rescue you, you'll pay the costs. That would be fair and make sense.

Once again: the driving ban worked. As I roamed around last night, there wasn't anybody on the roads. One person found the high tide at Plymouth beach (I think I heard they can't find the car) and one other dmv stuck in a snowbank on the side of 3a.
Kudos govt for doing something useful at last.

It offends me when my government threatens prosecution because it thinks I'm too stupid to take care of myself. Levying rules against the lowest common denominator is a really dumb precedent to set.

I agree, in principle.
In practice, the shit works.
We all know 2" ain't shit, but (lemme flex my snow dick here) I'm looking at 16" on the ground right now, and it's nice to get where I need to go without morons in the way.
And technically I'm off duty right now...but neither my street, nor my rents has been plowed, so I'm just hanging around not getting paid like the rest of you schlubs.
