But it does solve some problems for people skeptical about battery replacement costs. Who says you're going to wait 15 minutes in line?

i assume you pay per swap?...what is the cost per swap?...or is this a yearly service fee?...also i would imagine the fasteners/hardware will take a beating if you're doing this constantly so i hope they design them well

I would think you would pay per swap. Annual service fee wouldn't make much sense.

I would think a swap without hardware would make the most sense. There are plenty of options to secure which don't involve threads directly.

Queueing theroy does. If you only have 2 bays for a battery swap, you're going to spend a lot more time waiting than you are getting service. If you have 10 superchargers, there is no waiting for service.

Good deals on a Fisker right now if you want an ass ugly EV. Parts/service likely to become challenging soon.

Do you currently wait for a gas pump? I know I haven't waited for a gas pump in years...

Yes, it's usually a 2-3 minute wait at a BJs Gas pump.

So why would it be longer to wait for a battery swap?

Did you see their setup? The swap station is like a car wash, there's only 2 bays. If you're low on battery, your options are waiting for the line to move ahead or walking. At a supercharger, you arrive and get immediate service. You can go take a piss, buy a donut, or whatever because you're not in a line.

That's a big assumption, especially as there are more EVsrunning around. People already block them as is now.

I've always thought that universal hot swappable batteries should be an option to recharging

Was pondering a purchase of some Rivian stock seeing how low it is now. But they’ve never made money, in fact they lose $40k on every unit sold currently. They are predicted to run out of capital within 2 years without big $ new investors. Think I’ll pass, for now.

He loves making assumptions though. As long as they can benefit his EV agenda. He's completely blinded by the bias. It's almost kind of sad.

Density isn't there yet, you have to design your vehicle around your battery as is, no way to make that universal without locking in many aspects of car design. We can't even agree on a universal 12v car battery, how do you expect to mandate a fixed EV batt?

Saw my first tesla truck. It huge, and truly bizarre if nothing else the designer and company had brass balls for building and attempting to sell the thing.
